Routledge A Green History of the Welfare State - Routledge

A Green History of the Welfare State examines the intersection of environmental concerns and social policy development across modern welfare systems. As climate change and environmental issues gain prominence in government agendas, this book fills a critical gap by tracing how welfare states have engaged with green principles and environmental policy over time. Published by Routledge in the Explorations in Environmental Studies series, it provides essential historical context for understanding how social welfare systems have responded to environmental challenges. The work explores the relationship between environmental and social policy agendas, analysing the extent to which welfare systems have incorporated environmental principles into their frameworks. This comprehensive study is vital for academics, policymakers, and researchers seeking to understand the complex dynamics between welfare reform and environmental sustainability in contemporary governance.
