Real Gone Music Shawn-Neeq Calvin Keys - Blue/Black Vinyl

Experience the 1971 debut of jazz guitar star Calvin Keys with this special vinyl release from Real Gone Music. Originally released on the Black Jazz Records label, Shawn-Neeq marks the moment Keys transitioned from a premier sideman for jazz organ legends like Jimmy Smith and Jack McDuff to a formidable leader in his own right. For this landmark recording, Keys chose to move away from the organ-heavy sound of his previous work, instead recruiting elite pianist Larry Nash. Nash brings a wealth of experience from his work with the L.A. Express, Bill Withers, and Etta James. Supported by a talented ensemble including bassist Lawrence Evans, drummer Bob Braye, and a flautist-songwriter, this album captures a fresh direction in jazz guitar. This edition comes on striking blue with black swirl vinyl, making it a standout addition to any collection of classic jazz recordings.
