Description

Explore the deep roots of the film noir genre with World Noir Vol 4 from Radiance Films. While many associate the style with American crime movies of the 1940s and 1950s, this collection highlights the massive influence of French cinema on the movement. The term 'film noir' was actually coined by French critic Nino Frank, who drew inspiration from the successful Serie Noire publishing imprint. This Blu-ray release brings a specialized look at the cinematic framework that helped define the genre. By examining the connection between hardboiled fiction and the dark, moody visual styles popularized in France, this volume provides a deeper understanding of how the genre evolved. It is an essential addition for collectors interested in the history of international crime cinema and the cultural origins of the noir aesthetic. This set is formatted for Region B playback, ensuring a high-quality viewing experience for fans of classic global cinema.
