Description

Experience a landmark collection of classical music with the Netherlands Wind Ensemble - Complete Philips Recordings. This set brings together the full Philips catalogue of an ensemble that shaped Dutch musical culture during the 1970s. For the first time, this collection is issued in its entirety on CD, including several albums that were previously unavailable in this format. Originally formed in 1959 as a wind quintet, the ensemble grew to specialize in Classical-era serenades and divertimenti. These works, once overlooked, are now celebrated as masterpieces of entertainment music. This collection allows you to hear their definitive interpretations of essential repertoire, such as Mozart's Gran Partita and Beethoven's late Octet. You will also find the wonderful Octet-Partitas by Franz K. This set is a vital addition for collectors of chamber music and fans of high-quality wind ensemble performances.
