Description

Experience the latest musical release from multi-disciplinary artist Mira Calix. Released via Warp Records, absent origin is a unique exploration of sound and structure. The album follows a creative concept where new works are built from fragments after periods of breakdown. Calix uses the art of collage to organize these fragments into a cohesive listening experience. Her creative process involved deep research into the history of collage, utilizing a vast collection of books and magazines as source material. This method shapes the identity of the album, mirroring the way she assembles both her music and her visual identity. This release is a must-have for fans of experimental pop and the Warp Records catalog. It offers a deep dive into a studio process that feels like a Scandi-Noir detective investigation, where the artist herself is woven into the very fabric of the artwork. Add this distinctive addition to your collection today.
