Description

Experience a landmark moment in jazz history with this special edition of Milestones. This release captures the 1958 Miles Davis group as they transitioned from a quintet to a sextet with the addition of Julian Cannonball Adderley on alto sax. The album features the legendary rhythm section of Red Garland on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Philly Joe Jones on drums, joined by Miles Davis and John Coltrane. This version provides extra value for collectors and jazz enthusiasts by including three bonus tracks. These additional recordings feature the same group but highlight a different lineup with Bill Evans on piano and Jimmy Cobb on drums. With cover photography by William Claxton, this release is a must-have for fans of Cool Jazz and classic mid-century recordings. Whether you are a long-time listener or discovering these masters for the first time, this collection brings the essential sounds of the 1958 sextet directly to your collection.
