Microsoft Lync Server Standard CAL - Education License

Microsoft Lync Server Standard CAL is an education-focused client access licence designed for institutions implementing Microsoft's unified communications platform. This licence enables educational organisations to deploy Lync Server infrastructure with standardised user access rights, supporting instant messaging, voice calling, video conferencing and presence awareness across campus networks. The Standard CAL tier provides essential communication capabilities for students, faculty and staff without premium feature sets, making it an economical choice for schools and universities managing large user populations. Educational institutions benefit from simplified licence management and compliance tracking through Microsoft's Open Volume licensing programme, which streamlines procurement and deployment across multiple departments and buildings.
