Description

Explore the vast musical landscape of ECM Records with the Selected Signs III-VIII box set. This collection was born from the 'ECM - A Cultural Archaeology' exhibition held at the Haus der Kunst in Munich, one of Europe's premier museums for contemporary art. Curated by Okwui Enwezor and Markus Muller, the exhibition aimed to present the wide range of the label's artistic work across music, photography, and graphic art. This specific six-CD set was created by Manfred Eicher and Steve Lake to highlight different directions within the history of the label. It touches upon various themes and musical streams, offering a deep look into the creative connections between music and other art forms like film, theatre, and literature. For collectors and fans of chamber music and contemporary sounds, this set provides a comprehensive look at the diverse musical paths taken by ECM Records.
