Description

Ocean Songs is a masterwork from Dirty Three, the Melbourne instrumental trio that blends violin, guitar, and drums into emotionally complex soundscapes. Recorded by legendary engineer Steve Albini at Chicago's Electrical Audio, this album captures the raw interplay between Warren Ellis, Mick Turner, and Jim White as they create music that functions like a film score for the listener's own inner world. The green vinyl pressing delivers the band's intricate dynamics with warmth and depth, from soaring crescendos to intimate passages that feel both cathartic and haunting. Each track unfolds like a narrative arc, pulling you through emotional peaks and valleys that linger long after the needle lifts. Released on Touch & Go Records, Ocean Songs stands as a testament to Dirty Three's uncompromising artistic vision and their ability to transcend instrumental rock into something altogether more profound and affecting.
