Bloomsbury Foucault's Heidegger - Continental Philosophy Study

Foucault's Heidegger examines the complex philosophical relationship between Michel Foucault and Martin Heidegger, a connection that has sparked ongoing academic debate but lacked a comprehensive interpretation until now. This groundbreaking volume from Continuum Studies in Continental Philosophy takes a fresh approach by identifying a distinctly Heideggerian style of thinking within Foucault's work, tracing how this philosophical practice emerges throughout Foucault's early studies of madness and literature. Through a series of penetrating analytical studies, the book moves beyond simply cataloguing similarities between these thinkers to reveal how Heideggerian methods fundamentally shape Foucault's philosophical approach. Ideal for scholars, graduate students and advanced readers interested in twentieth-century continental philosophy, this work provides the first comprehensive framework for understanding how these two pivotal figures in Western thought connect and influence one another.
