By reducing light by six f-stops, this filter allows you to extend shutter speeds significantly without changing your aperture. For example, a shutter speed of 1/60 s can be converted to a full second, enabling you to capture the smooth motion of flowing water or create artistic unsharpness with moving people in busy streets. Note that using these longer shutter speeds requires a tripod for stability. This filter is engineered with high-quality single-coated Schott glass, ensuring excellent optical performance. Due to its higher transmission in the red spectrum beyond 660 nm, it provides a slightly warm tone to your color photographs. If you prefer a more neutral color balance, you can easily remedy this by placing a B+W UV-/IR-Blocking Filter 486 in front of the ND filter. Built with a precision CNC machined brass mount, this German-made filter offers the durability and reliability needed for serious photography.
