Description

Experience a rare moment in avant garde jazz history with Children of the Forest. This double LP from Black Editions Archive is the latest release in the Milford Graves Archival series. It features previously unreleased 1976 sessions that offer a new perspective on Graves' ensemble music from the 1970s. Recorded by Graves himself in his legendary Queens basement laboratory and workshop, these sessions took place just weeks before the iconic Babi recording at WBAI-FM Free Music Store. This release brings together the same unit, including Hugh Glover and Arthur Doyle, to present a profound look at his experimental work. For collectors and fans of free jazz, this vinyl release provides a direct connection to the raw, creative energy of Graves' studio process during a defining era of his career.
