Description

Tass Papadimitriou grew up in Marrickville, in a Greek family that believed in hard work, clean hands and keeping your head down. But in the back streets of western Sydney, good kids don’t always stay good. As a teenager, Tass falls in with Alex, his fearless best mate, and a tight crew of local boys. What starts as petty hustling turns into running gear for a small-time dealer. Before long, Tass is not just moving heroin through Bankstown and Marrickville – he’s using it. One taste becomes a habit. The habit becomes a life. He claws his way out once. With the help of his parents, and the fierce honesty of Monica – the woman who becomes his wife – Tass gets clean. He swaps the back lanes for building sites, the late-night deals for early starts. A house in Greenacre. Three kids. Barbecues, school runs, mortgage repayments. An ordinary, honest life. Then Alex moves in next door. Now a major player in the ice trade, Alex brings with him the old buzz, the old loyalty – and the old lies Tass tells himself. One weekend, one line, one more bad decision, and the past he thought he’d buried kicks the door in. As Tass is dragged back into a world of cash, chaos and chemicals, the cost spirals: a marriage collapsing, children slipping out of reach, and a police operation closing in. When the deal goes wrong in a quiet suburban street, sirens tear the night apart, and Tass wakes in a cell facing years inside. SUPPLY & CONSEQUENCE is a raw, uncompromising crime drama set in the fibro-fenced heart of western Sydney – Marrickville, Bankstown, Greenacre. It’s a story about friendship and betrayal, addiction and recovery, and how easy it is to lose everything by reaching for the life you should have left behind. Most of all, it’s about what comes after the wreckage. When the sentences are handed down and the noise dies away, Tass has to decide what kind of man he’s going to be: the kid from the lane, the player from the corridor, or the father who shows up, week after week, for the kids who still wear yellow raincoats and pick lemons from his tree. In the end, the past doesn’t forgive. But the future is still up for grabs.
