How to use this book These notes were developed from the author’s personal revision system and were refined over time through FRCS preparation. The current edition reflects the final set of notes used during preparation for the author’s later FRCS examination in Oesophagogastric Surgery. About the author Dr Mohamed Alasmar (MBBCh Cairo University, MRCS, MSc General Surgery) achieved International FRCS (2015), FEBS (2023), and UK FRCS (Oesophagogastric) (2026). He worked in the UK as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Oesophagogastric Surgery and as a Locum Consultant General Surgeon at Salford Care Organisation (Northern Care Alliance). He is currently Acting Lecturer and Consultant Surgeon at New Giza University and teaches on ATLS, ATOM, CCrISP, and basic/intermediate laparoscopic skills courses.
