The Gospel of Jesus Christ in the New Testament According to St. Luke. Igbo Mediators of Yahweh Culture of Life, Volume VII presents a groundbreaking historical, linguistic, and theological exploration of the Gospel according to St. Luke through the lens of ancient Igbo language and culture. Anchored in the Old Owerri District of present-day Imo State, Nigeria—identified by the author as the original site of Ancient Jerusalem—the book reveals deep etymological connections between Igbo expressions and key biblical terms, titles, and places. Drawing on linguistic archaeology, scriptural exegesis, and archeological evidence, the work uncovers how ancient scriptures such as the Qumran and early Quranic texts were preserved in Igbo language, and how titles like “Rabbi,” “Apostle,” “Prophet,” and “Bishop” hold profound Igbo meanings. It reconstructs the political, religious, and judicial systems of Igbo society at the time of Christ, illustrating parallels with Igbo Jewish governance under Roman rule. A centerpiece of the book is the presentation of an ancient map depicting Jerusalem at the birth of Jesus—situated in Owerri—and the account of a royal Yoruba pilgrimage to this holy city before its destruction in 70 AD, echoing the biblical Epiphany. Through meticulous mapping of ancient and modern landscapes, the author aligns rivers, roads, temples, and civic spaces, bridging sacred history with living geography. Ultimately, the book seeks to resolve the enduring question posed by Jesus in Matthew 16:15—“But who do you say that I am?”—by unveiling His identity and mission from within the cultural, linguistic, and spiritual heritage of the Igbo people. It is both a scholarly revelation and a devotional journey, challenging prevailing historical narratives while affirming the universality of the Gospel’s Divine Light.
