La présente étude pose le problème de la refondation du système éducatif camerounais au regard des points réussis du système éducatif chinois, particulièrement, dans l’intervalle 1949-2011. Tous les trois dirigeants qui ont été à la tête de la Chine dans cet intervalle, ont opté pour une continuité de la politique éducative en maintenant les points positifs et en améliorant les points négatifs de cette politique. La Chine a le mérite d’avoir trouvé elle-même sa propre voie de développement en s’inspirant du modèle soviétique. Et elle continue jusqu’aujourd’hui à tracer sa propre voie de politique éducative adaptée à sa réalité locale et aux attentes de sa population, malgré son ouverture sur le monde. Par contre, le système éducatif camerounais est resté jusqu’aujourd’hui colonial avec l’existence pérenne de deux sous-systèmes éducatifs rivaux. La dévaluation salariale des enseignants, les programmes d’enseignement aux contenus extravertis qui sont inadaptés aux exigences professionnelles locales, l’organisation administrative centralisée, sont entre autres les maux qui minent le système scolaire au Cameroun.
