AWS and AI: Building Intelligent Cloud-Native Systems

The convergence of cloud computing and artificial intelligence is reshaping how modern digital systems are designed, deployed, and scaled. Organizations today are no longer building applications that simply process data; they are creating intelligent, adaptive, and self-optimizing systems that learn continuously and respond in real time. This shift marks the rise of intelligent cloud-native systems, where AI is not an add-on feature but a foundational capability embedded into the architecture itself. Amazon Web Services (AWS) stands at the center of this transformation. With its vast portfolio of scalable infrastructure, managed AI services, data platforms, and security-first design, AWS enables enterprises, startups, and public-sector organizations to operationalize AI at unprecedented speed and scale. From traditional machine learning and deep learning to generative AI and autonomous agents, AWS provides the building blocks required to move from experimentation to production-grade AI systems. This book, AWS and AI: Building Intelligent Cloud-Native Systems, is written for architects, developers, data scientists, and technology leaders who want to design and deploy real-world AI systems using AWS. Rather than focusing only on algorithms, the book emphasizes end-to-end architecture—how data is collected, governed, processed, trained, deployed, monitored, and continuously improved in cloud environments. Readers will learn how to align AI workloads with AWS services, design for scalability and resilience, and implement secure, cost-effective, and compliant AI solutions. Through detailed explanations, architectural patterns, and hands-on case studies across industries such as finance, healthcare, agriculture, retail, and smart cities, this book bridges the gap between theory and practice. By the end, readers will be equipped not only to build AI models on AWS, but to architect AI-native systems that are ready for the future—where intelligence is an inherent property of the cloud itself.
