Description

David Moxey is the youngest of three children and second son of Jack and Elizabeth Moxey. Born in Brookwood Surrey in 1960 where he lived until 1972 when his family moved to Alderney in the Channel Islands. After boarding school in Guernsey he joined the Royal Navy in 1978 as a Supply Officer serving for 23 years; on leaving the RN he joined Airbus Portsmouth working in their satellite Division. To pursue a growing passion for working in the charity sector in 2015 he took voluntary severance from Airbus and has for the past ten years worked and volunteered for various third sector organisations and charities mainly supporting the homeless, families and veterans. Married in 1984, David as two grown up children Ben and Sarah and four grandchildren, he re-married in 2013 and now lives in Portsmouth where he enjoys the many cultural and other activities offered by the city being a keen enthusiast for anything new and of interest. Sparked by a chance conversation this is David’s first, and last book, he has thoroughly enjoyed researching and writing about his extended family’s history and his father’s life, especially having lost him so young. But it has been a long journey, not helped by the numerous “rabbit holes” discovered during the research, and it is now time to explore new opportunities that life offers – but who knows what.
