Description

This special color edition features the paintings of Blood Fire Ritual Art and other hidden runic aspects that present a specific Patron Spirit of each book. Step into the primal mists of ancient North with Myrkrian Rites, a grimoire by Michael W. Ford. This book is a masterful fusion of myth, magic, and philosophy, guiding readers through the Myrkrian Path—a Left-Hand Path embrace of Northern mysteries that balance Chaos and Order, darkness and illumination. Drawing on decades of study and practice, Ford explores the rebellious powers of the Thurses, the Witches Sabbat origins in such lore of the Myrk-riða, Vargúlfr as Kveld-riða (the ecstatic shamanic transformations of the spirit journey), and utilizing the draconian-serpent hamr (shape) of the Ormslíki & Dreka-líki in deep meditations. The methods of invoking primal energy by the knowledge of the Hrimthurses of Niflheim and Muspellheim; the Jötunn and Yggdrasil composing the Nine Worlds. The primal darkness and fiery light of the Thurses are balanced with the lore and myths of the Æsir, Vanir, & Álfr as having ambivalent forces than are creative and destructive. The theory and practice of self-transformation by the esoteric (veiled) knowledge of the Goddess Gullveig / Heidr and the arts of Galdr, Seiðr, Trollskapr & Fjölkyngi are presented. The Sacred Rhythm of Ljóðaháttr Chant Meters in Galdr are revealed as well, including techniques of uniting Will, Desire, and Belief. The Jötunn powers of Chaos by Loki, Angrboda and their offspring: Hel, Fenrir, and the Jormungand Serpent are described and the rites and Galdr-chants of summoning forces that possess primal energy that may be used in devotions and to be concentrated and directed towards the will of the Vitki and Völva. The Chaos is balanced with the study of the darker aspects of Odin; rather than focusing on the “All-Father”, this work explores the many names (epithets) of the Mask (Grimr) and initiatory teachings of Rúna (mysteries) and how the runes are understood, used in formulas of spells and magical workings of the inner and outer world. Odin is presented as an excellent model of the Left-Hand Path initiate, even with the counter-casting of the circle by And-Sælis (Widdershins) to seek communion and power with: The Myrkrian Rite of Niflheim and the Surtrian Light of Múspellheim and the darksome art of necromancy and Odin’s knowledge as Draugadróttinn (Lord of the Ghosts / Undead). The jaws of Fenrir and Sword of Surtr bring destruction to that which is held sacred, and the gods of Order consumed in fiery darkness and the Abyss in order that the Vitki and Völva may shed the trappings of self to refine consciousness. Like Jörmungandr (the Midgard Serpent), akin to the Ouroboros, there is a Cycle and what is destroyed can become created in new form. The forbidden dark rune formula of Fjölkyngi including the Ulfhéðnar (wolf-skins), Vampyre bind-runes, and other paths of Rúna are presented within this Grimoire. Here, the runes are not just symbols, but living keys to personal power, transformation, and forbidden knowledge. The text weaves together Norse, Germanic, and Anglo-Saxon traditions, offering rituals, chants (galdr), and practical techniques for self-mastery, magical initiation, and spiritual liberation. The Myrkrian Rites is more than a book—it’s an invitation to forge your own path, to honor the spirits of nature and the ancestors, and to awaken the Black Flame within. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a curious seeker, this tome provides a rich tapestry of mythic wisdom, practical sorcery, and philosophical insight.
