Information Science Reference Critical Approach to Sustainability Discourse and Action in International Relations

Sustainability is central to international relations, shaping policies, treaties, and global development. However, sustainability discourse is often influenced by power dynamics, economic interests, and political agendas that can undermine environmental and social progress. This perspective highlights the inequalities and contradictions in global sustainability initiatives. By examining definitions of sustainability, how interests are prioritized, and how actions are implemented, a deeper understanding of the complexities behind international sustainability efforts is encouraged. Further exploration of the discourse and actions surrounding sustainability in international relations may reveal their effectiveness, fairness, and long-term impact. Critical Approach to Sustainability Discourse and Action in International Relations explores critical debates in international relations, environmental policy, development, and gender studies by challenging mainstream discourses of sustainability visions. It examines academic discourse on the gap between global actors commitments and actual environmental, political, economic and social outcomes. This book covers topics such as renewable energy, ecology, and geopolitics, and is a useful resource for business owners, government officials, policymakers, engineers, academicians, researchers, and environmental scientists.
