The Orientalist Imperial Solera 23 is a small-batch, dark sipping rum built around Asia’s tropical sugar cane. It blends rums from Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia, aged at origin in the classic Solera system between 6 and 23 years, then married in a run of ex-bourbon and Pedro Ximenez sherry barrels. The result is depth with balance. On the nose, expect deep molasses and dried fruits, plus toasted oak and a sweet-sherry lift. The palate is full-bodied and rounded, layering tropical spice with dark chocolate and honeyed vanilla, before a long, exceptionally smooth finish of caramelised sugar and warm oak. A dark amber pour, it feels tailored for slow sipping. Imperial Solera 23 is made from first pressings of tropical sugar cane and distilled in copper-lined column stills, creating a clean, characterful profile that works both neat and in premium cocktails. It’s also the only Orientalist spirit produced in collaboration with an external master blender—bringing extra precision to how each Solera component is balanced in the final blend.
