Description

4CD /1DVD set containing unreleased demos, live performances, video, interviews, BBC performances, rare memorabilia, photos and new liner notes Stiff Little Fingers iconic debut ‘Inflammable Material’ was one of the most important records of its era. Originally released in 1979 at the height of The Troubles in Northern Ireland, the album depicted volatile life in Belfast at the time and was met with critical acclaim. The 4CD/1DVD set contains a remastered version of the original album, a disc of unreleased demos, an unreleased live performance from Troon in 1979 and a CD of the pertinent John Peel sessions from the BBC. The DVD contains unreleased material: The legendary Rough Trade promo video from 1979, an unreleased version of the band performing ‘Alternative Ulster’ from October 1978, plus an interview, originally included in the film Shellshock Rock (Hollywood Films) and a performance from The Old Grey Whistle Test from Friars in May 1979. Accompanying the music is rare memorabilia and photos and new liner notes from legendary journalist Stuart Baillie. The 50th Anniversary Remaster vinyl is remastered by GRAMMY Award-winning engineer David Glasser, with Plangent Processes tape restoration and speed correction and Produced for Release by David Lemieux. In their 10th year, the Grateful Dead recorded one of their most ambitious albums since the late 1960s, with songwriting and songs that were as out-there, jam-filled, and as psychedelic as the music they were making in 1968-1969. Both Side 1 an Side 2 featured instrumental passages that show a band digging deep into the depths of their creativity, with "Silpknot!," "King Solomon's Marbles," "Stronger Than Dirt Or Milkin' The Turkey," "Sage & Spirit," and parts of the Blues For Allah suite being some of the wildest instrumentals the Dead ever recorded in the studio. Add to this such masterpieces as "Help On The Way," "Franklin's Tower," "The Music Never Stopped," and "Crazy Fingers," and you have one of the Dead's most consistently great albums that stands the test of time, and sounds more from the future than the past. Re-mastered by GRAMMY Award-winning engineer David Glasser from the original analogue tapes, with speed-correction and tape restoration by Plangent Processes.
