Description

This slimline hinge jig provides an effortless professional finish when recessing standard UK sized 102mm x 76mm (recess size 102mm x 30mm) hinges. It features wide compatibility, designed to work with both doorstops and architraves up to 22mm thick still in place (minimum 5mm spacing required between architrave and door lining, standard recommended spacing is 5-10mm for hinge clearance). The design is optimized for clamping, but 4mm fixing screw holes are provided as well as an alternative. Designed to be used with a guided template profiler router bit up to 14mm in diameter. This sort of bit has a bearing that allows the blade to run around the guide without cutting it. I recommend the Trend 1/4" 12.7mm x 9.5mm C121BX1/4TC as shown in pictures. The router bit is not included. Once the depth has been set, secure the jig on your door or door frame in the correct location. Position the router carefully within the jig before switching it on. Once the cut has been made, ensure the router has fully stopped before removing it from the jig. These steps will help prevent accidental damage to the jig. Please note: Exact colour may vary subject to filament availability. Some small visual imperfections is normal for additive manufacturing, strength and function is not effected.

Key Features

Effortless Repeatable Professional Finish - Provides a quick, simple solution for fitting standard UK sized 102x76mm hinges (recess size 102x30mm). The hinge used for testing was the Eclipse Grade 13 Ball Bearing Hinge Satin but any 102x30mm hinge should work fine.

Ultimate Compatibility - Optimized for clamping on doors and linings, even when doorstops and architraves are still in place. 4mm screw holes are provided as an alternative fixing method to clamps.

Cutting-Edge 3D Printing Technology - Designed and manufactured in the UK using tough PETG plastic and tuned print settings for maximum strength and durability.

User Friendly - Clearance cut-outs allow access for chiselling out corners with the jig still in place.

Simple Setup - A centre mark built into the jig makes accurate positioning quick and easy.

Built to Last - The compact, lightweight and robust design is easy to store, making it ideal for both DIYers and professionals.

Bearing Profiler Router Bit Required - Designed to be used with any guided template bearing profiler router bit up to 14mm in diameter. Trend C121BX1/4TC is recommended for optimum compatibility and performance.
