In 1999 he released the double 12" EP Xpander containing four epic progressive trance tunes each clocking in at over 10 minutes. Each track progresses slowly and takes you for a ride across numerous tense build-ups and intense releases without ever letting up. No wonder that the EP won the award for "Best Techno/Trance 12"" at the 1999 International Dance Music Awards; no mean feat considering the staggering amount of influential trance records that came out around that time. Fun fact for the gearheads: the title of the EP is an homage to the Oberheim Xpander, a now very hard to find, legendary synth from the late 80s that defined much of that era's sound.
