For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region, and of the globe. In this report we define the sales of recreational, outdoor, and fitness GPS devices as including all commonly understood products falling within this broad category, such as uses in hiking and trekking, camping, cycling, paragliding, off-road vehicle events, water sports, and winter sports; smaller and lighter GPS watches; and devices that incorporate smartphone notifications with statistical feedback including calorie count, distance, and heart rate measurements, irrespective of product packaging, formulation, size, or form.
