Product Description
As part of their 25th anniversary celebrations, Starsailor are set to release their first official live album, ‘Starsailor with Strings – Live from Liverpool’, due out 3rd October via East West / Parlophone. Available on CD and limited edition Red recycled vinyl LP. Recorded at Liverpool’s prestigious Tung Auditorium, the album captures a one-off performance with a string ensemble at the venue’s state-of-the-art, acoustically optimised concert hall and features the full original four-piece line-up of James Walsh, James Stelfox, Ben Byrne, and Barry Westhead with additional guitars from Tony Foster (Spiritualized). The ensemble was conducted by Joe Duddell, renowned composer and arranger whose credits include New Order, Elbow, James, and Richard Hawley. The result is effectively a live 'best of' – featuring lush new arrangements of fan favourites like Alcoholic, Four To The Floor, Good Souls and Silence Is Easy, the album also includes a stunning cover of Jealous Guy along with further tracks from across their catalogue of the past 25 years. Since debuting in 2000, Starsailor have carved a lasting legacy with emotionally charged songwriting and powerful live shows. They have charted all their six studio albums in the Top 40 including their debut album Love Is Here which reached #2, selling over a million copies and earning them the ‘Brightest New Hope’ (Philip Hall On Award) at the NME Awards, along with nominations at the BRIT Awards and a win for Best New Act at the Q Awards. Starsailor embark on a headline tour of the UK and EU this winter.
