Key Features
FRITILLARIA UVAVULPIS BULBS Fritillaria UvaVulpis, also known as Fox’s Head Fritillary, is a compact springflowering bulb with graceful, nodding bellshaped blooms in rich shades of deep purple edged with yellow. These distinctive blooms appear in mid to late Spring and grow to a height of around 30-40 cm.
HOW TO PLANT FRITILLARIA Plant Fritillaria UvaVulpis bulbs in welldrained, fertile soil between Autumn and early Winter. Space them approximately 10cm apart and plant at a depth three times the height of the bulb, ideally in full sun or partial shade. After planting, water thoroughly and consider adding mulch or compost to aid moisture retention and drainage.
PLANTING POSITION Ideal for beds, borders, naturalised areas, and woodlandstyle gardens. These Fritillaria bulbs also perform well in containers or under deciduous trees where spring light is plentiful. Their slim stems and fine foliage pair well with other spring bulbs or lowgrowing perennials.
EASY TO STORE If you are not ready to plant the bulbs now, then store them in a cool, dry, frost free, well ventilated location. A garage, shed, loft or cupboard are ideal. Open the paper bag to allow air to circulate round but leave the bulbs in their bags until ready to plant.
