Plastic model kit of a Soviet howitzer with 207 pieces. Length built 130 mm. The Soviet heavy duty B-4 howitzer with a calibre of 203.2 mm (8 inches) was developed in 1931. The howitzer could fire grenades weighing more than 100 kg at a distance of almost 18 km. The weight of the gun was 19 t in transport position. A special caterpillar gun was developed - a large caterpillar tread prevented the howitzer from sinking into the ground, and the strong gun withstood the strong recoil when fired. The B-4's first combat mission took place during the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-40, when it was used to destroy Finnish concrete forts. The Finns gave the weapon the nickname "Stalin's sledgehammer". The German Army captured a number of these guns and used them under the designation 8" H.503(r). The howitzer was used throughout the Second World War. The gun has been successfully used in storming fortresses and in street fighting in major German cities.
