Description

Firaxis Games, 2K Games and Laced Records have forged a tripartite alliance to deploy the music of Sid Meier’s Civilization VII onto history’s favourite music format: vinyl records. This 4LP box set features a large selection of music from across the ‘Ages’ of the game, while sleeves are adorned with beautiful, historical artwork by the Firaxis team. Spanning human history and the entire globe, the soundtrack for Civilization VII is a hugely ambitious, impeccably recorded album of world & choral-orchestral music. Christopher Tin opens the soundtrack with main theme “Live Gloriously”, sung in Ancient Greek, Old English, K’iche’ and Sanskrit by the Crouch End Festival Chorus. Tin’s piece "Baba Yetu" — the theme song for 2005’s Civilization IV — made history as the first piece of video game music to win a Grammy Award. His compositions are known for their rousing, globally inspired soundscapes that have become emblematic of the Civilization series. In-game music cues were composed, arranged and produced by Geoff Knorr (Civilization: Beyond Earth, Civilization V & VI) and Roland Rizzo (Civilization II, III, IV, V, VI & XCOM® series). These tracks feature performances by a huge diversity of ensembles and musicians recorded worldwide, including the Prague FILMharmonic Orchestra and Choir, Ensemble I Fedeli, Mongolian State Morin Khuur Ensemble, Southern Pine Drum Group, Wong Pleng Khmer, and many soloists representing different musical traditions. TRACK LIST: Disc 1 – (Main Theme & Ambience) Side A Live Gloriously From Dust to Dust (Antiquity Age Ambience 1 Peace) Was wird es doch des Wunders noch (Exploration Age Ambience 2 Peace) Hope Rising (Modern Age Ambience 1 Peace) Side B Carved in Stone Strum the Lyres (Antiquity Age Ambience 2 Peace) Nation Against Nation (Antiquity Age Ambience 1 War) Der Sitt auf Erden (Exploration Age Ambience 2 War) Para Bellum (Modern Age Ambience 2 War) Disc 2 - (Antiquity) Side A Ancient Egypt (Antiquity Age) The Maya (Antiquity Age) Persia (Antiquity Age) The Han Dynasty (Antiquity Age) Side B The Maurya Empire (Antiquity Age) The Mississippians (Antiquity Age) The Roman Empire (Antiquity Age) Disc 3 – (Exploration) Side A The Inca Empire (Exploration Age) The Normans (Exploration Age) The Songhai Empire (Exploration Age) The Mongol Empire (Exploration Age) Side B The Chola Dynasty (Exploration Age) The Shawnee (Exploration Age) The Kingdom of Spain (Exploration Age) The Ming Dynasty (Exploration Age) Disc 4 – (Modern) Side A Colonial America (Modern Age) Meiji Japan (Modern Age) The Mughal Empire (Modern Age) Mexico (Modern Age) Side B Prussia (Modern Age) The Qing Dynasty (Modern Age) The French Empire (Modern Age) Siam (Modern Age)
