Majosta General Chemistry: A Self-Study Program

Have problems remembering general chemistry reaction schemes and answering questions on exams; nothing seems to help or work. You should know the general chemistry is not a subject to be memorized; it is too complicated and is too vast for memorization learning. There are common themes that permeate all branches of chemistry and the physical sciences in general; they must be learned and understand how to use these scientific principles to answer exam questions. My book entitled General Chemistry: A Self-Study Program teaches students how to do this. The book is designed to teach general chemistry at both the conscious and unconscious levels just by reading the book and jotting down key information. For example, unconscious learning occurs while one watches a motion picture for entertainment; most moviegoers can summarize the movie at end of the picture without reading or studying the script. This is unconscious learning, which occurs without our help or knowledge. With the latter in mind, my book is an easy read because the chemical concepts are explained in a style that students will understand and comprehend while reading. There are illustrated examples; they explain each chemical concept such as acid-base theory, guided practice problems help student learn how to answer exam questions, and potholes to avoid. In short, students are able to recall key information needed to answer questions on exams. Atoms are built-up by adding one electron and one proton at time in accordance to the Aufbau Principle going across periods from left to right or going from lithium (Li) to fluorine (F). Periodicity is the unifying theme throughout general chemistry; it refers to reaction trends of chemical elements; that is, the how and why elements react with one another as one goes across periods, or down families or groups to form chemical compounds. For example, gaseous metallic lithium (Li) and gaseous fluorine (F2) react; they form lithium fluoride (Li-F). There is an exchange of valence electrons; the atoms combine with one another in definite proportions to give lithium fluoride. Chemistry is the study between matter and energy, which result in a chemical reaction; some of the topics discussed are electron-dot structures, ideal gas law, hybridization, and solution theory. My book allows students to grasp the essential of general chemistry just by reading the book; it teaches students how to outline chapters in the sciences.
