PAEONIA BARE ROOTS Paeonia, commonly known as Peony, is a classic perennial prized for its large, fragrant, showy blooms that appear in late Spring to early Summer. These bareroot plants grow into robust, bushy clumps with attractive foliage and blooms in shades of pink, red, white or coral depending on variety.

HOW TO PLANT PAEONIA Plant bareroot peonies in Autumn or early Spring in fertile, welldrained soil in a sunny position. Position the eyes (buds) just 23cm below soil level to avoid poor flowering. Space plants around 6090cm apart to allow for mature growth. After planting, water thoroughly to help establish roots. Mulch lightly in Spring to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Avoid planting too deeply, which can inhibit flowering.

PLANTING POSITION These hardy perennials are excellent for flower beds, borders, or mixed perennial planting schemes. Their bold structure and longlasting blooms make them standout features in any garden. Once settled, peonies are remarkably easy to care for. Avoid moving them once planted, as they do not like disturbance.

EASY TO STORE If you are not ready to plant the bare root now, then store them in a cool, dry, frost free, well ventilated location. A garage, shed, loft or cupboard are ideal. Open the paper bag to allow air to circulate round but leave the bulbs in their bags until ready to plant.
