Product Description Diarrhoea can have various triggers including certain foods and drinks, eating habits, stress, menstruation, and changes in your diet while travelling. When suffering from diarrhoea, you may feel weak and lacking in energy due to the loss of essential fluids and salts. The Imodium SoftGels capsules are small, easy-to-swallow gel capsules that are clinically proven to provide fast and effective diarrhoea relief within 1 hour. The active ingredient, Loperamide Hydrochloride, works by gently slowing down an overactive bowel and allowing water and salts that are usually lost in diarrhoea to be absorbed by the body. Don't let diarrhoea hold you back, treat it with Imodium. Ingredients Active Ingredients: Loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg per capsule Other Ingredients: Loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg per capsule. Propylene glycol monocaprylate, propylene glycol, gelatin, glycerol, soya lecithin, medium chain triglycerides, brilliant blue (E133) and purified water. Directions For oral use only. Swallow whole with water. Do not chew. Short-term diarrhoea: Adults and children over 12 years: Take 2 capsules to start treatment. Take 1 capsule after each loose bowel movement, up to a maximum of 6 capsules per day. Do not take for attacks lasting more than 48 hours. If your diarrhoea lasts for more than 48 hours, consult your doctor. Not recommended for children under 12 years. IBS diarrhoea, previously diagnosed by a doctor: Adults aged 18 years and over: Take 2 capsules to start treatment. Take 1 capsule after each loose bowel movement, or as previously advised by a doctor, up to a maximum of 6 capsules per day. You can use this medicine for up to 2 weeks for repeated attacks, but do not take for any one attack lasting longer than 48 hours. If your symptoms change, worsen or are not improved after 2 weeks, consult your doctor. Safety Warning Please read the enclosed leaflet carefully before use. Do not take more than the stated dose. Imodium SoftGels 2mg Capsules, soft is used for symptomatic relief of diarrhoea only and is not a substitute for rehydration therapy. If clinical improvement of acute diarrhoea or diarrhoea associated with irritable bowel syndrome is not observed within 48 hours, discontinue this product and consult your doctor. Loperamide hydrochloride, which is an opioid, is the active ingredient of this medicine. Addiction is observed in the opioid drug class, hence caution is needed in patients with a history of drug abuse. This medicine also contains propylene glycol and soya lecithin. Do not use in children less than 12 years of age. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
