Product Description

If you were to stumble across a sun-dappled cove just off the Mediterranean, you might catch the distant sound of Yuuf drifting through the trees; handpan rhythms bouncing off limestone cliffs, basslines snaking like vines, and dusty guitars catching the sea breeze. Formed of four international musicians who met at BIMM in Brighton but now based in London, Yuuf conjure a sound they call Global Psychedelia — a balmy blend influenced by West and Central African groove, Thai psych, Mexican Cumbia, ambient Americana, and dreamlike textures that nod to Ghibli soundtracks and the classical guitar tradition of Spain. Their debut EP ‘In The Sun’ was self-released on vinyl in June 2024 (250 copies, now sold out), followed by an LP release of the band’s viral YouTube live session, ‘Live in Surrey Hills’ which accumulated over 1.8M global views - 500 copies pressed, already over 50% sold, including multiple shipments to Japan. These records were sold entirely without label or retail backing, mostly at gigs and online, with the first 50 signed copies gone within hours. Yuuf’s first three London headline shows - Moth Club (600 sign-ups), The Lexington, and Paper Dress Vintage sold out well in advance, with more intimate shows at Sofar Sounds, Pizza Express Holborn and Hotel Cecil (Copenhagen) building a fast-growing international audience. With a packed summer of festivals ahead including Green Man, Lost Village and Wide Awake (see timeline below) their next chapter begins with Alma’s Cove releasing on Technicolour (Ninja Tune): an EP designed as an escape hatch from the chaos of city life.
