God of War II was somehow even grander and more brutal than its predecessor, as well as a technical swan song for the mighty PlayStation 2. Everything fans love about God of War scores was present and correct in 2007: soaring melodies, guttural chanting, a heavenly choir (singing in Greek), thundering drums, and a roaring orchestra. Four of the original game’s composition team returned to elevate the sequel, building on the heavy brass and choral main theme to serenade the new God of War’s fatal journey down the Underworld and body-strewn mission to the Palace of Fates.
