Description

The main function of the exhaust gas recycling (EGR) system is to reduce the amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx) formed during the combustion process. NOx is formed when nitrogen and oxygen in the air-fuel mixture combine with high combustion temperatures. EGR valves are installed on all modern diesel engines as well as in an increasing number of gasoline engines, thereby reducing fuel consumption. They correspond to the valves of the basic equipment, are subject to the strictest original quality standards and must pass thermal shock tests from -40°C to +150°C as well as electrical resistance and service life tests. They work by removing exhaust gases from the exhaust manifold and then injecting these gases back into the intake manifold, where they are mixed with fresh air. The proper operation of the exhaust gas recirculation valve contributes significantly to the protection of the engine.
