St. Pope Paul VI encouraged the Faithful to read it and said: “Ciudad de Dios" contains nothing contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church”. On November 16, 2023, in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, Pope Francis received in audience the participants in the Conference on the Venerable María de Jesús de Ágreda organized by the Pontifical International Marian Academy, to whom he talked about the holiness of Venerable María de Jesús de Ágreda. 360 years after her death the incorrupt body of Venerable Sister Mary of Agreda lies on display in her Church of the Conceptionists Convent in Ágreda, Spain.
