On a donc longtemps perçu l’esclavagisation des Africains comme une simple capture et déportation dans le temps et dans l’espace par les peuples d’ailleurs, mais en réalité, c’est un système de déracinement et de construction d’une identité, celle de l’esclave, un être qui s’auto-soumet à la domination de son prédateur, tout en faisant sienne la reproduction de génération en génération de ce système d’oppression. L’esclavage des Africains dans sa définition pratique ce sont donc toutes les opportunités que des traitres à l’Afrique, et à ses intérêts offrent à des prédateurs venus d’ailleurs, de capter richesses et ressources africaines, à la fois matérielles et humaines, par la mise en place d'un système de domination contraignante mais encore qui dispose les victimes à consentir à cette prédation et en faire même un héritage culturel. C’est cela l’esclavage que racontent les mots (maux) africains.
