The RF50mm F1.4 L VCM is part of the expanding Hybrid lens series, targeting a wide range of still-image and video shooters, with a combination of standard-angle coverage, a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, and excellent optical design. On a full frame camera this lens gives you a Standard-angle look which has for decades been the most “all-purpose” focal length for photos and videos. On the video side, this lens really shines with a dedicated manual Iris ring, and a linear focus motor called a VCM (Voice Coil Motor) that is virtually silent. The VCM works in tandem with a Nano USM on the floating focus unit for incredibly fast autofocus. And finally, focus breathing is barely noticeable on this incredibly versatile lens.

L-Series level durability and weather-resistant construction for use in harsh environments helps ensure reliability and dependability.

Incredibly minimal focus breathing - within 2.5% of the entire range in the lens alone! Further electronic breathing correction brings it to within 1.0% of the entire range.

Air Sphere Coating (ASC) helps to significantly reduce lens ghosting and flare.
