In many cases, aviation came to parts of the Western Hemisphere due to a lack of roads and rail. Aircraft could land on lakes and rivers and reach the interior of many countries. The Caribbean also opened up by providing a means to get from one Island to another. Aviation became an important part of development. This book is a comprehensive guide to the airlines, insignia of badges, and wings of aviation in the Americas. The United States and Canada are far too large to be included and Airlines of the United States are contained in "Aviation Insignia of the United States of America". A similar book on Canada is in the works. This new book on the Americas is where 46 countries and territories are included with color illustrations of both badges, aircraft, and logos together with a short description of the company or organization concerned.
