Description

At the start of the pandemic, by chance, a Spanish detective specializing in the security of dependent elderly people discovered in Dénia, Alicante, that Georg Bachmayer, who was the Deputy Commandant of the Mauthausen concentration and extermination camp, had faked his suicide in 1945 in front of the OSS, later the CIA. In 2019, evidence emerged suggesting that SS Captain Bachmayer could have been in Dénia from 1968 until his death in 2008 in Valencia. The investigation is narrated in the first person by the detective whose agency, authorized by the Ministry of the Interior of the Spanish government, was specialized in the security of dependent elderly people. The book takes the reader through the entire investigation, presenting unpublished photographs, graphological analyses, and consultations and analyses in public archives. These reveal visual and graphological identifications of Georg and Teckla Bachmayer as well as Anton Streitwieser and his wife. It also decrypts the false name of Otto Skorzeny in Dénia and his wife, providing documents that demonstrate the presence of Nazis like Skorzeny and Bachmayer in areas of Spain like Dénia. This investigation is intertwined with a harsh critique of the social and healthcare realities of elderly care. Why? "Because Bachmayer was well cared for until the age of 94, while hundreds of thousands of elderly people in Spain are not treated with dignity in their dependency." Mancebo said. This book invites reflection on the consequences of this discovery: Ethical and Moral Repercussions: The situation raises a series of ethical and moral questions about Spain's role in the dignity of World War II victims. Additionally, it prompts reflection on how society shapes history by how it cares for its weakest members. Questioning the CIA's Effectiveness: The accuracy of the CIA's reports on Bachmayer's identity is questioned. The impact on the image of the American intelligence agency could be seriously damaged. Revealing the Identity of an Escaped Nazi who died in 2008 in a democratic country. The revelation of his true identity could have serious consequences for the social and professional environment that helped and covered for him. Legal Repercussions: Confirming Bachmayer's true identity could lead to legal and judicial repercussions, such as actions against the state for its role in the real origin and current state of Historical Memory. "Beyond the astonishing discovery of this Nazi war criminal hidden in Spain, this book is the first of a trilogy about the critical state of the Health and Care sector for dependent elderly people. The first volume states that the discovered Nazi did not commit suicide but lived in Spain, well cared for by both right-wing and left-wing governments until 2008. The second book will discuss what the Nazis did after World War II and what Bachmayer did in Spain." The author.
