Product Description 1. Switching on and calibration Switch on the device: Press the power button; the LCD display shows the standard scan mode ‘1/2 inch’. Calibration: Press the ‘Scan’ button and the device will calibrate automatically. During calibration, the signal bars on the screen will disappear and a beep will sound when calibration is complete. 2. Selecting the scan mode ① Stud scan mode: l 1/2 inch mode: Detects wooden or metal studs up to a depth of 13 mm. l 1-inch mode: Detects wooden or metal bolts up to a depth of 25 mm. l 1 1/2-inch mode: Detects wooden or metal bolts up to a depth of 38 mm. l If you are unsure, select the 1/2-inch mode first. ② Metal detection mode: Detects magnetic metals (max. depth 80 mm) and non-magnetic metals (max. depth 60 mm). ③ AC scan mode: Detects unshielded AC cables with a maximum depth of 51 mm. 3. How to scan l Start scanning: Hold the detector parallel to the wall and move the device gently. Avoid moving it quickly or shaking it. l Pay attention to your hand position: Your fingers should be positioned on the sides of the device so that they do not touch the scanning area. l Complete the scan: The device will display the position of the detected object on the screen. l Replacing the battery l When the battery is low, a ‘Low Battery’ indicator will appear on the screen. l When replacing the battery, be sure to insert the 9V battery with the correct polarity. 4. Tips for use l Hold the device steady and avoid shaking during the scanning process. l If the scan result is unstable, the wall may be damp or the paint may not be dry yet.
