How do TECHMADE smartwatches record an ECG? In addition to the Heart-Rate sensor found in all Techmade smartwatches, Tech Feel is equipped with additional electrodes capable of tracking a single lead ECG. A standard twelve-lead ECG records electrical signals from different corners of the heart to produce twelve different tracks. The ECG Tech Feel app measures a track similar to one of these twelve tracks.

What information do you gain from the ECG Tech Feel? A single lead ECG can provide information on heart rate and heart rhythm and allows classification of atrial fibrillation. However, it cannot be used to detect other problems, such as heart attacks. In some comparison studies between ECG Tech Feel and standard 12-lead ECG, the same classification of heart rhythm as sinus or atrial fibrillation was found

HOW DOES IT WORK? The ECG Tech Feel app measures a track similar to one of these twelve tracks. 1. Wearing the smartwatch and placing the fingertip on the digital crown positioned next to the display, a closed electrical circuit starts from the fingertip itself and reaches the sensor on the wrist. 2. By reading for 30 seconds the passage of energy in this closed electrical circuit, it generates an algorithm that is processed by the Techmade app, emitting the ECG graph. 3. The generated single-lead ECG can be shared with your doctor.
