Description

In this book you will find the names of officers who served in the SS / Waffen-SS who have a family name beginning with A. We show in this book all known service for each officer, in addition to this you will also know their SS number, NSDAP number, awards, if they were married and how many children they had. With this work, we show how many officers were transferred between different areas within the SS, among other things to show that these officers were political soldiers and an extended arm of Hitler and his ideology. Some officers had a more in-depth role while others a vanishingly small role. But still, they were members of an organization that, after the war, was forever associated with the war crimes committed before and during the war. Now not all officers were directly involved in war crimes but to be part of the SS they were indirectly part of the organization that made this possible. Of course, this point changed a little during the latter part of the war, this after Hitler and Himmler decided that after 1943 all foreign volunteers would be part of the Waffen-SS, and that in the Baltic countries a general mobilization was introduced, which meant that thousands of Ester and Letters ended up in the Waffen-SS whether they wanted to or not. In addition to a simple listing of officers, you will also find a number of more detailed biographies for various officers, with this we want to give you a more detailed insight into where they served. The total number of officers in this volume is 1373 of which 873 have an associated photo.
