As a result, a new hobby of Barbie Doll Collecting began to emerge among adult doll lovers and others that were fascinated by the doll and her amazing and realistic fashions. At first Barbie doll collecting grew slowly—that is until 1977 when four women from different parts of the United States helped to motivate this new hobby like it had never been before. This book chronicles these four women as well as other people that helped propel Barbie Doll Collecting into the huge hobby that it is today. With hundreds of photos to look at, learn about this very fun hobby that has annual sold-out Barbie doll Conventions every year all over the United States and even in other countries. Also learn about other Barbie ‘Intrigue’ and a whole world of adult Barbie fans that has become almost like one huge family that goes way beyond just ‘children’ playing with Barbie!!! Barbie doll Collectors should know the history of their hobby!!! The author Bob Young played with Barbie and Ken as a child and then began collecting in 1979. He has never missed a Barbie Convention since they began in 1980.
