The Santana Pegasus was designed and developed as a traditional ST model, but with a few modifications that make it more suitable for the modern electric guitarist. The Pegasus in cheeky Butter Cream is equipped with a basswood body, which gives the electric guitar a clear, assertive sound and adds warmth and midrange to the guitar. The neck has undergone a special treatment in which the wood is “baked” in a low-oxygen environment to remove excess moisture from the wood - this gives the guitar a more resonant and expressive sound, similar to the tone you get from it get an electric guitar that is old and constructed. The pickups have been specifically designed to vintage specifications, maintaining the original expression of the ST model. However, Santana has chosen to make the pickups more powerful and balanced to better suit the tastes and needs of the modern electric guitarist. 2-point tremolo, leg saddle and lockable tuning screws give the Santana Pegasus better tuning stability, so you don't have to constantly tune."
