THE AUTHOR - Gary Bridson-Daley, is a Manchester born author who worked as a Tour Manager in travel and tourism for over a decade and the half all over the world. He was inspired to start interviewing and writing about World War Two veterans after meeting some of them in the WW2 related places that he was lucky enough to work or visit extensively over the years abroad and in the U.K, such as all 5 D-Day Landing Beaches and their museums at Normandy in France, Arnhem in Holland, El Alamein in Egypt, Pearl Harbour in Hawaii, Auschwitz-Birkenau in Poland, and has scuba dived on the WW2 shipwrecks of the SS Thistlegorm in Egypt & HMS Maori in Malta. Since then he has continued to honour the sacrifices of servicemen and women for posterity through the books he has written on this subject. Following on from ‘The Last Heroes’, ‘The Last Stand’ continues to pay tribute to those who Gary greatly respects for the precious gift of freedom they have given us all over the years as a result of their service and their actions on behalf of our country.
