Modernising Scientific Careers is the umbrella name for delivering scientific training to the healthcare workforce. Six of the seven Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering themes contain a substantive amount of ICT knowledge and expertise to be delivered in the workplace (Rehabilitation Engineering is the exception). This book covers the MSC workplace syllabus for the Medical Physics themes (Ionising Radiation, Non-Ionising Radiation, Radiotherapy, Radiation Protection). It also covers the ICT competencies for the Clinical Engineering theme of Clinical Measurement & Development and most of them for Device Risk Management & Governance.In 2013 we decided to deliver this material via a 4-day training course. The material in this book is based upon the latest version of those lectures. As such it does not contain the asides, bad jokes, solutions to questions, rumours, anecdotes or group exercises from the course.
