Description
Neurologue libéral, je suis amené à soigner des patients du monde entier. Au cours de mes quinze années d’expérience, je me suis rendu compte que donner seulement des médicaments ne suffisait pas. Les patients arrivent en consultation avec une plainte, mais souvent, il existe une souffrance psychique qui n’est pas verbalisée lors de l’entretien. Notre devoir, en tant que médecin, est de soigner le patient dans sa globalité, en tenant compte de son histoire. Je suis engagé dans la lutte contre la violence faite aux femmes et ai largement contribué au Grenelle pour lutter contre la violence faite aux femmes en sensibilisant médecins, associations, députés, sénateurs, ministres, candidats à la présidentielle. Je suis engagé également dans l’accès aux soins des plus démunis. Je pratique la neuromodulation, notamment la stimulation magnétique transcrânienne, technique inventée par le Pr Barker en 1985, qui consiste à envoyer des ondes magnétiques sur la boîte crânienne, pour stimuler des réseaux neuronaux et modifier la plasticité cérébrale. Les indications sont multiples (douleur neuropathique, céphalées, déficit post-AVC, hallucinations, dépression, troubles cognitifs, syndrome de stress post-traumatique, anxiété généralisée, troubles du comportement alimentaire, troubles neurologiques fonctionnels…). Ceci m’a amené naturellement à m’intéresser à l’hypnose, à la sophrologie, et à l’EMDR (Eye Movement desensitization and Reprocessiing ou thérapie de désensibilisation et de retraitement par les mouvements oculaires),techniques que je qualifie de neuromodulation sensorielle. L’EMDR va permettre de transformer un traumatisme psychologique en un souvenir plus neutre, dénué de charge émotionnelle, en utilisant des mouvements oculaires, mimant des mouvements oculaires rapides du sommeil paradoxal. Durant les cours d’EMDR, j’ai compris que cette technique permet d’améliorer l’estime de soi et la confiance en soi. L’EMDR est une thérapie non médicamenteuse qui peut optimiser la prise en charge de pathologies neurologiques, de la douleur, et des pathologies psychiatriques, combinée aux médicaments, à la stimulation magnétique transcrânienne, à la kinésithérapie, aux thérapies cognitivo-comportementales…
