FLOW OF HYDROGEN THROUGH PIPES AND COMPONENTS: Calculation Handbook of the Pressure Drop and Flow Rate

This handbook, shows how calculate the pressure drop, flow rate, restriction orifice types, piping and valve sizes related with the flow of Hydrogen as gas through piping systems. It includes the graphs of the different flow coefficients C and the expansion factors Y with the choking conditions of the Hydrogen at the end of the pipes, in the valves and in the restriction orifices. Also, the handbook has different numerical examples that exposes how do the calculations and the design. This revision, also includes the graphs of Y for gases with Cp/Cv = 1.3 as Natural Gas and CO2. The transport of H2 may be done mixed with Natural Gas to avoid corrosion problems of the pipe material. The values of Y of the mixture will be intermediate between those of 1.3 and 1.4. In the case of the transport of CO2 in the Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technologies, the graphs of Y for 1.3 can be used to do the calculaions.
