Bosch Pex 220A: The Random Orbit Sander with Palm Grip - Ideal for Curvatures and Polishing Work The secret of the Bosch Random Orbit Sander is its distinct combination of rotary and orbital actions. This ensures ideal and scratch-free quality sanding on a variety of woods and metals--it’s also suitable for sanding down paintwork. With the appropriate Velcro-backed polishing pads you can even polish your car with this sander. These highly versatile sanders differ in two basic ways from the usual orbital sander. First, the base is round and not rectangular (hence the confusion with a polisher) and second, the sanding action is very different. Sanding discs are attached via a Velcro-type system and are easy to fit and remove. They are pre-punched with holes, allowing the dust extraction system to work efficiently. Sanding discs come in a wide variety of grits (coarse to fine).The sanding pad moves in an orbital and rotary movement simultaneously, this results in up to five times faster material removal than with a normal orbital sander and the finish is scratch-free (ideal for when the wood is to be varnished or stained). Sanding Sheet Clamping System with Velcro-type Fastening The extra-large sanding surface (125 mm) of the high-quality magnesium sanding plate and the powerful motor ensures fast sanding on large areas. The orbit diameter of the tool is 1.25 mm. Microfilter System The integrated Microfilter System conveys up to 80 per cent of the dust at high speed directly through the sanding sheet and sanding pad into the transparent, ribbed filter. The box can be emptied quickly and easily, so it can be used continuously. The result: Clean workplace, clean air, clean results, even without a vacuum cleaner. Alternatively, you can remove the Microfilter and attach a vacuum cleaner (such as the Bosch PAS 11-21) with a suitable adaptor.
